In a vote on Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill that restricts the use of “virtual strip searches” at airport security checkpoints. Privacy groups have expressed concern that the X-rays “reveal the traveler’s nude form.”
The bill was a stunning defeat to Rep. Andrew Hartley’s plan to fit every American with lead fig leaves over their genitals.
